PERANAN DINAS TENAGA KERJA DAN PERINDUSTRIAN DALAM MEWUJUDKAN PEMERATAAN KESEMPATAN KERJA DI KOTA PADANG

The Padang City Manpower and Industry Office has a strategic role in efforts to equalize employment opportunities through the preparation and implementation of employment policies at the regional level. The problem formulation in this study includes: 1) What is the role of the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in realizing equal employment opportunities in Padang City? 2) What are the obstacles faced by the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in realizing equal employment opportunities in Padang City? 3) What efforts have been made by the Padang City Manpower and Industry Office in overcoming obstacles to realizing equal employment opportunities in Padang City? The research method used is a juridical sociological research with data sources, namely primary data and secondary data. Data were obtained through interviews and document studies. The data obtained were then analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The results of the study show 1) The Padang City Manpower and Industry Office has played an active role in realizing equal employment opportunities, one of which is by implementing training programs and improving workforce skills. 2) Obstacles faced in realizing employment opportunities include limited workforce competency, budget, and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. 3) Efforts made to overcome these obstacles include improving the quality of vocational training, developing entrepreneurship and small and medium industries, and optimizing cross-sector partnerships
