Abstract

THE IMPACT OF TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP AND INCENTIVES ON CIVIL SERVANT PERFORMANCE: THE ROLE OF JOB MOTIVATION AS A MEDIATOR
(Case Study: Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning & Department of Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Affairs, Dharmasraya Regency)

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the effect of transformational leadership and incentives on the performance of civil servants with work motivation as a mediator, in the context of the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning & Department of Housing, Settlement Areas and Land Affairs of Dharmasraya Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data obtained through a structured questionnaire to 56 respondents selected using census techniques with data analysis used is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results of the study indicate that transformational leadership and incentives have a positive and significant influence on work motivation and have a positive impact on the performance of civil servants. In addition, work motivation plays a significant mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership and incentives with the performance of civil servants. These findings provide practical contributions for public sector organizations to implement inspirational leadership, fair incentives and sustainable work motivation management to improve employee performance.
