Abstract

The Lubuk Sao Mini-Hydro Power Plant (PLTM), a mini-hydro power plant with a capacity of 2x1500 KW, has been operating since June 20, 2016. A decrease in power efficiency has occurred due to fluctuating water discharge during the dry season, causing the PLTM's efficiency to decline. This research was conducted to analyze the Power Efficiency of the Lubuk Sao PLTM so that it can function optimally. This research provides an overview of the decrease in power efficiency at the Lubuk Sao PLTM. The analysis and simulation of the power plant utilize the HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Of Multiple Energy Resources) Software, which is a software capable of simulating and analyzing power generation systems. The efficiency of the Lubuk Sao PLTM over 3 consecutive days was 51.51% on the first day, 72.44% on the second day, and 55.10% on the third day, with an average efficiency of 59.40% and an average total generated power of 1470.57 kW. Therefore, this power plant can be declared inefficient.
