ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the mollusk community structure in the mangrove conservation area of Apar Village, Pariaman City, West Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive method with purposive sampling at three observation stations representing varying mangrove vegetation densities. Results identified nine mollusk species dominated by Gastropods, particularly the genus Nerita, with the highest abundance during low tide conditions. The diversity index (H') ranged from 2.05–2.23 (moderate category), while the dominance index was low (0.12–0.26), indicating no significant species dominance. Environmental parameters such as low salinity (0.07–0.08 ppt), acidic pH (4.82–5.99), and limited organic matter (0.14–0.35%) influenced mollusk distribution. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of maintaining mangrove habitat quality to support mollusk diversity, which plays a critical role in the ecosystem
